MANIFESTATION OF CHRONIC RECURRENT APHTOUS STOMATITIS IN CROWN DISEASE

Abstract:

The frequency of manifestations of chronic recurrent aphthous stomatitis in the exacerbation of Crohn's disease was analyzed. The results of studying the clinical manifestations of Crohn's disease from the oral cavity in 86 patients showed that in 33 (38.4%) patients there were changes in the oral cavity, in particular, chronic recurrent aphthous stomatitis in 9 (10.46%), which is confirmed by the results histological examination of the oral mucosa, namely the presence of granulomatous inflammation. The results of intestinal studies by capsular endoscopy and colonoscopy with biopsy also confirm the presence of granulomatous changes from the mucosa of the large intestine, which corresponds to the diagnosis of Crohn's disease. In 19 (22.1%) patients, manifestations from the oral cavity for 8 + 1.2 days precede intestinal symptoms. In 14 (16.3%) patients, clinical manifestations from the oral cavity were manifested with intestinal disorders. The diagnosis of chronic recurrent aphthous stomatitis in Crohn's disease was confirmed by the results of a histological examination of the pathologically altered mucous membrane of the oral cavity, with characteristic granulomatous changes that correlate with changes in the intestinal mucosa. Detected characteristic granulomatous changes from the oral cavity without the presence of intestinal manifestations, require both local and general pathogenetic treatment in the early stages of the disease.
