Abstract:
It was found that in the serum of patients at the non-proliferative and proliferative diabetic retinopathy the level of total cholesterol significantly increased, while total phospholipids level decreased, which lead to raising of their ratio. In parallel, there is also an increasing of triglycerides and low density lipoproteins level, lowering of high density lipoproteins levels, as well as a reducing the percentage of erythrocytes hemolysis and rising of the total peroxidase activity of the blood in the patients. Along with lipid metabolism disturbances it has been revealed an alteration of changes erythrocyte membranes "fluidity" and, as a result, the degradation of the lipid bilayer that witnesses dropping easily-oxidative phospholipids fractions and raising of heavily-oxidative ones. More pronounced changes in the patients’ organism have been found at proliferative retinopathy form. The proposed pharmacotherapeutical complex (delta-sleep peptide, anti-VEGF agent, thioctic acid) not only significantly improves the status of ophthalmologic patients with various forms of diabetic retinopathy, but also largely restores their lipid metabolism.
