HEALTH OF THE POPULATION – THE MAIN CONCERN OF THE STATE

Annotation | The analysis of key demographic indicators for 2001-2009 in Poltava region in comparison with analogical indicators for the same period in Ukraine was carried out. The population of Ukraine for 9 years, decreased by 3,253,919 persons, and in the Poltava region - by 164 187 citizens. This happened due to the high mortality and lack of natural population growth. Morbidity of Ukraine based on 100 thousand from 2001 to 2009 has decreased by an average of 4175.9. Mortality during this period increased by 16.4 - from 1521, 2 in 2001 to 1537, 6 - in 2009. Morbidity and mortality of citizens of Poltava region over the study period increased somewhat slower pace. From 2001 to 2009 the morbidity rate has increased to 524.4 cases per 100 thousand population - from 58371.9 to 58896.9 up. Mortality has rose to 21.9 - from 1761.0 to 1782.9 per 100 thousand population. Natural population growth during this period was not noted in Ukraine and Poltava region. At the present stage health of the population of Ukraine, Poltava region is insufficient. The old system of health is partly guilty of such situation. |
