Annotation 243 patients operated in planned mode with opening of abdominal cavity were involved to the study. They were divided in 4 groups according to the type of surgery: hysterectomy (HE), myomectomy (ME), surgery of benign adnexal tumors (SBAT) and diagnostic interventions for infertility without expressed anatomic abnormality (SI). Data received through sonographic, intraoperational and pathohistologic examinations were compared. Adenomiosis in patients with endometriosis was revealed almost 2,5 times more frequent than in its absence. Such a tendency was observed in all groups. Prevalence of adenomyosis increased with severity of adenomyosis. Frequent coexistence of adenomyosis and endometriosis indirectly indicates their possible common pathogenesis.
