THE EFFICACY OF THE TREATMENT OF THE DRY EYE SYNDROME IN PATIENTS USING SOFT CONTACT LENSES FOR A LONG TIME

Annotation	According to the literature , this symptom occurs today in 30 - 45% of the population, contact lenses are often causes secondary syndrome of the "dry eye ". The study involved 42 patients. In the study group in 17 ( 85%) patients was found hyperemia, local edema and bulbar conjunctival folds, the presence of epithelial micro-defects, surface perilimbal corneal neovascularization, corneal epithelial staining of varying severity. In the control group these signs were only observed in 5 (23%) patients. In carrying out functional tests: the main group Schirmer test - 7,51±1,03 mm sample Norn - 6,0±1,5 with in the control group the Schirmer test was on average 12±0,73 mm and sample of Norn 23±1,2 s. To correct the detected changes in the study group was appointed full-time cyclosporine emulsion of 1 drop 2 times a day for at least 3 months. After 2 months of the using in the study group the Schirmer test results was 10,12 ± 1,4 mm and sample Norn to 15,1 ± 1,1 s. Given that the mode of use of the drug twice daily, patients were able to return to the use of contact lenses, continuing drug instillation to donning and after removing the lenses.
