Annotation | The state of collagen and elastin metabolism was studied in patients with gastric cancer and study of prognostic criteria for assessing the severity of disease, localization, and prevalence of pathological process was performed. Results of the study of structural and metabolic state of the connective tissue in patients with gastric cancer found in all groups an increase the activity of elastase, content of serum glycosaminoglycans, collagenolytic activity, as well as free and bound hydroxyproline. The dynamics of increase in collagenolytic and elastase activity had similar characteristics, tightly connected with the stage of tumor development, and might serve as an important diagnostic criterion for evaluation of disease severity stage. The serum collagenolytic activity of patients with the IV stage of gastric cancer was 9 times higher compared to control group that gave to this index, along with elastase, the important diagnostic and prognostic value in determination of disease severity stage and monitoring of pathogenetic treatment effectiveness. |
