Annotation Atrial fibrillation (AF) is one of the most common cardiac arrhythmia in clinical practice, which leads to disability. This disease affects 1-2% of the general population, and that figure is probably closer to 2%, as part of the population after reaching retirement age ceases to undergo a medical examination. To assess changes in echocardiographic parameters in patients with persistent AF, 99 patients with сoronary heart disease (CHD) combined with hypertension (HT), of which 68 in combined with the persistent AF and 31 without this arrhythmia, and 31 healthy volunteers. Found that patients with CHD combined with HT was significantly reduced systolic volume and ejection fraction of the left ventricle, changes the geometry of the left ventricle with the prevalence of eccentric hypertrophy. In the group patients of CHD combined with HT and persistent AF linear size of the left atrium was significantly larger, which may be a negative factor in the future recurrence of AF.
