Annotation 93 medical records of patients with ischemic form of diabetic foot syndrome have been analyzed. Among the patients there were 78 (83.9%) men and 15 (16.1%) women. The average age of the patients was 65,2 ± 4,92 years old. Diabetes mellitus of the first type was observed in 18 (19.4%), while the second type – in 75 (80.6%) patients. Patients were divided into two groups. The first group included 48 (51.6%) patients who underwent balloon angioplasty and stenting of the lower extremities arteries, and the second one included 45 (49.4%) patients who refused endovascular operations and received only conservative treatment. It was proved that the introduction of endovascular treatment into surgical practice significantly reduces the number of amputations of lower extremities, improves outcomes of diabetic patients with critical limb ischemia in the immediate and in the distant periods.
