    Annotation A study was conducted to establish the topographic and macroscopic features of the submandibular salivary glands of humans and some laboratory animals. It has been established that in the norm of the submandibular gland of humans and laboratory animals there are certain specific features of topography and anatomical structure that must be taken into account in carrying out experimental studies for the correct interpretation of the results of studies and the selection of a certain type of laboratory animals in their conduct.
