    ROLE OF NO-SYNTHASE AND ARGINASE IN MECHANISMS OF SKIN CONNECTIVE TISSUE DISRUPTION IN RATS EXPOSED TO EXCESSIVE SODIUM NITRATE INTAKE

    Annotation This experiment was designed to study the effects of NO-synthase and arginase inhibitors on the indicators of collagen and proteoglycans depolymerization in the skin, as well as its biomechanical properties in 35 white Wistar male rats exposed to excess sodium nitrate intake for 30 days. It has been found out that selective inhibition of inducible NO-synthase by aminoguanidine in the experimental conditions reduces collagenolysis and proteoglycans depolymerization in the dermis, increases strength and elasticity of the skin that indicates the pathogenic role of this isoform in the disruption of skin connective tissue and impairment of its biomechanical properties. Arginase inhibition by L-norvaline increases collagenolysis and proteoglycans depolymerization in the tissues of the skin, reduces its strength and elasticity. This suggests dermatoprotective properties of enzymes of arginase metabolic pathway.
