    ACADEMIC PLAGIARISM IN MEDICAL RESEARCH

    Annotation The author investigates general approaches to determination of the notion of plagiarism. As a result of plagiarism, not only spend time and money erroneous research also contributes to mistrust of medical research, may even lead to patients receiving harmful treatments. Also academic plagiarism is a serious violation of intellectual property rights, as a result of which property and non-property damage is caused. A significant difference between the scientific and legislative definition of plagiarism is the recognition of misappropriation of the idea. Under the law, the idea is not protected as an object of copyright. Therefore academic plagiarism is attribution of authorship to a scientific work, a scientific discovery. The idea is also the result of intellectual activity. Therefore, it is important to find mechanisms to protect it from misuse. Academic plagiarism is a systemic problem and it must be solved in a complex way.
