Annotation Prevalence of breast cancer in the women with diabetes mellitus type 2 and the effect of hypoglycemic therapy on the frequency of the cancer and survival rates were studied. A significantly higher risk of breast cancer was detected in the women with type 2 diabetes mellitus [OR = 3.30; 95% CI (2.59-4.22) p<0.001]. Obesity and decompensation of diabetes are the factors of oncogenesis in patients with type 2 diabetes. The influence different types of hypoglycemic therapy on the frequency and survival rate of patients with breast cancer has not been proven. The higher risk of death from breast cancer to 5 years in people with diabetes mellitus type 2 compared with the patients without diabetes was revealed [OR = 4.80; 95% CI (2.96-7.81) p<0.001].
